Internet and Rural Internet Services
To give you the best performance and security, we recommend leasing or purchasing a modem through Midco. If you would like to use your own modem, refer to our approved modems list to see equipment that’s compatible with our network.
Fiber Internet Services
With fiber internet, a small optical network unit (ONU) will be installed in your home and is included in your package. If you’d like a Wi-Fi signal, you can purchase or lease a wireless router from Midco to connect via Ethernet cable to create your wireless network.4

Note: Our service speeds are based on hardwired devices. If you use Wi-Fi, you may not see full speed capabilities. Older devices on your network may also not be capable of reaching the faster speeds in your package. Learn how to optimize your internet connection.
Midco takes thorough measures to keep our network secure by mitigating potential distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) threats as early as possible. This protection transfers to our customers, providing a free basic level of defense to everyone using our internet. Whether you’re gaming online or accessing sensitive work documents at home, it’s important to be protected from DDoS attacks, since the attack can cause a service disruption or be combined with other attacks to lead to data theft.
However, we recommend that you also follow other internet safety tips to keep your information safe.
1 Customer is responsible for modem purchase or lease required for Midco internet. Modem lease price is $6/mo. for standard modem or $8/mo. for wireless. Any non-Midco provided modem must have DOCSIS 3.1 technology. An approved modem list can be found at Midco.com/Modems. Actual internet speeds may vary depending on your computer or mobile device’s capacity, the number of devices accessing the internet at once and web traffic. Speeds may also be impacted by third-party equipment (such as your computer or router). Midco Internet 500 and Midco Gig Internet are not available in all areas.
