What's New with Rural Internet
The annual bull sale is one of the biggest days of the year for this family operation. Although it happens in rural North Dakota in February, Midco Rural Internet ensures online bidders can have the same access as if they were sitting in the bleachers.
No matter where you live, businesses need reliable internet to keep up with the demands of daily commerce. Midco enjoys helping people and businesses live a better connected life.
With new technology helping to close the gap, rural customers have more choices when it comes to internet. Check out how the different rural internet options compare to each other.
Efficiency on the Farm
In northwest Minnesota, just 20 miles from the Canadian border, 1,000 people call Hallock home. Its a regional entertainment and outdoor recreation destination – and a thriving agricultural hub.
A Solid Connectivity Backbone
“It's important for us to have good, reliable internet on the farm,” said Kevin Klein. “We can research parts and equipment – things that we can't get locally we can get online. Every day, we're getting emails from local elevators based on what commodities did overnight, what they think is going to happen during the day.”
“I can have everything at my disposal through my iPad or my phone – and I don't go anywhere these days without my iPad next to me,” said Erik Younggren. “You don't have to live in a big city to create or live your dream. You can live in a small town where it's peaceful and quiet and low crime and still live your dream.”
Fixed Wireless FAQ
Midco Fixed Wireless Internet relies on wireless signals and antennas, but unlike satellite, your antenna isn’t pointed at the sky. Fixed wireless internet uses point-to-multipoint signals, meaning your antenna points at equipment on top of a nearby water tower, elevator or other tall structure that is connected to the Midco Network.
This enables us to bring reliable internet to customers in remote locations that we’re unable to reach with fiber or cable. And with extenders, it enables you to connect more than one building on your property to high-speed internet.
