Parental Controls

TV Everywhere Parental Controls

Important: Parental controls are not set by default. This means all content is available for viewing until you apply controls based on your preferences.

Parental controls let you filter programs, so your children can only watch and record content you approve as suitable for them.

This page covers parental controls for select TV Everywhere network apps: HBO GO®, MAX GO®, FX®, FXM, ABC and Freeform.1 App access varies based on the TV Everywhere networks available in your respective cable TV package.

Block by Ratings in Streaming Apps

If your cable TV package includes TV Everywhere access to network apps for HBO GO®, MAX GO®, FX®, FXM, ABC and Freeform, you can limit content based on movie and TV ratings of content in those apps.

Because access can be blocked by specific email address, you can apply different controls based on various Midco email accounts you’ve set up for TV Everywhere, so you can have different rules for you and your kids.

  1. Log in to My Account.
  2. In the Services section next to Internet, select Manage Email.
  1. Select radio button before the email account you want to modify.
  2. Click TVE Parental Controls.
  3. Select the TV and movie ratings you’d like to set.
  4. Check or uncheck the box to allow unrated content to be viewed.
  5. Click Save. It may take up to one minute for parental controls to take effect.
  6. Go to the network apps on your devices. Sign out of the network apps or websites, and sign back in again.
